On 19th July 2010 Philip Garford (Managing Director) and Janet Garford (Finance Director) joined other winners of the Queens Awards for Enterprise 2010 at a reception hosted by Her Majesty The Queen, at Buckingham Palace.

They were greeted by Palace staff and were shown into a reception room where they were offered champagne and canapés whilst mingling with other award winners. A short while later Philip, Janet and other guests moved through into an adjoining room where they were presented to Her Majesty The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. After the formal introductions, The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh moved through the room, stopping to talk with award winners along the way. Philip and Janet enjoyed a chat with the Duke of Edinburgh about their Robocrop InRow machine, for which the award was given.

Janet Garford said ‘It was an honour to be invited to Buckingham Palace and to be presented to The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh. It was a beautiful summer evening and the reception room overlooking the Palace gardens was a lovely setting. We were delighted to have the opportunity to speak with the Duke of Edinburgh about our product at the reception. It was also interesting to talk with other winners of the award, who were from all over the UK and were representing many different industries and companies of all sizes. It was a very special evening for both Philip and myself and we were proud to be representing Garford Farm Machinery at the reception
