Last week, we opened the gates at Garford to welcome a group of agricultural journalists for a closer look at the Electric Weeder.
Days like this are always a good chance to step away from emails and have proper conversations. It gave us the opportunity to share more about how the machine has developed, what it’s designed to do in practice, and to hear first-hand the questions and challenges coming from the industry.

The morning started with a presentation from Jonathan Henry, who talked through the thinking behind the Electric Weeder and the role it can play for growers looking to reduce reliance
on chemical inputs, without compromising on effective weed control.
From there, we headed out into the field for a live demonstration. Seeing the machine working in real conditions brought everything to life – and sparked plenty of discussion. With the team on hand throughout, it meant visitors could get into the detail, ask questions, and properly understand how the technology fits into a working system.
It’s always valuable for us as well. These conversations help shape how we continue to develop our machines and support growers going forward.
All in all, a really positive day – and great to spend time with people who are genuinely interested in where this technology is heading.
